How is WPM calculated?

WPM counts one word for every five correct characters, including the spaces after correct words, then divides by the minutes you typed. Words left with mistakes don't count, so your score reflects usable speed.

What is a good typing speed?

Around 40 WPM is a commonly cited average. 60 WPM is comfortably fast for everyday work, and 100 WPM or more is very fast.

How is typing accuracy measured?

Accuracy is the share of your keystrokes that were correct. Mistakes you fix with backspace still count against it.
